I'm wondering how much does it cost to have a car painted brand-new. I have a used vehicle and it needs a new paint job and I just need to know what it cost to get a new one. The car has a little Rust I'm just wondering if that's going to reflect the cost at all in a couple of dents too.

Mechanics Answer;

To have a car painted is not a cheap thing to do and that is a very misconception by people. It takes a lot of time and effort to get a new paint job on a vehicle. The main reason why it costs so much is because the previous paint needs to be ready for the new paint to go over it. And if the old paint is not in good enough condition that it needs to be fixed so that the new pain is not reflected by how the old paint sits on the metal.

The hardest part of everything is fixing and repairing Rust because Rust is actually metal that is been corroded and is no longer there. Lost is actually eating away at the metal and you can no longer get it back ever.

Not to mention the cost of paint that goes on vehicles is not cheap whatsoever. Depending on what color and brand of paint a person gets will determine how much the paint will cost. I've seen some paints alone cost almost US$500. So if the paint costs that much alone what do you think the whole entire job is going to cost with labor?

A paint job on a vehicle is not a $200 job but instead more or less like $1000-$5000 depending on the quality. I would say a middle that good decent paint job is going to run you around $2000. The way to save money is to get a hold of a person that does it on the side and have him or her do the work on their own. Because if you're going to pay for this service a professional is going to charge a lot more that has to make a living at doing it.

It's easy to misjudge how much work is actually involved in a paint job in the cost of how much it is to obtain a car. The cost to paint a car is not cheap and there is a lot of labor involved with taking apart little accessories on the vehicle and putting them back on after the paint has dried.

Not to mention all of the supplies and tools needed to do all the special work. Tools like paint guns and air compressors in Sandy and sanding tools and sandpaper the list goes on and on. There truly is no other way to paint the car other than a professional paint job. People think they can use rattle cans and aerosol cans but it just is not the same.

The cost to paint the car I would average out to be around $1500. That should answer your question and I hope that that answered it good enough and that I imagine the price is a little higher than you thought it would be. Most people that email me think a paint job is going to be $500 maximum but they're actually very wrong because it cost more.

All cars need paint jobs and they cost a lot of money.

This is a brush guard that goes in the front of a Hummer vehicle. These are commonly used to protect the front grill from animals and other emergency accidents. They help to protect from things heading the front of the vehicle and damaging and doing damage to the driver.

_How much does the chameleon paint job cost. I have an old Cutlass that I am looking to have painted with chameleon paint. I know that chameleon paint is somewhat going out of style but I truly love this stuff. You can hate on me all you want and my car bought I love what I do its my passion. So how much do you think it would cost to paint the car with chameleon paint? I'm saving up for the money so it's really not a big deal I just need a rough estimate on the maximum of what I should save. This car is my baby and I'm looking to have it turn out awesome.

_I'm looking for a small welder to do some small autobody on some projects coming up. I only need it so big so where does it go through that thick of metal. Basically the body of a car is about as thick as I need to go. I know people would tell me that I should just go big or go home but I truly do not need that big of a welder right now. I'm doing autobody fixes and I don't need that big of a welder to be honest.

_Long story short, my car has a huge scratch on the side of my vehicle. The car did not have insurance on it because it was sitting in my garage for the winter. I'm looking at getting this fixed in trying to figure out how much it's going to cost to take out the scratch. I don't have that much spare money right now but I plan on saving up for it. What do you think it would cost the scratches around a foot long and pretty deep. I would say it's worse than a regular key scratch.

_My trunk lid will not shut until I slam it shut like 15 times. What do you think is causing this to happen? I would really like to fix my trunk lid on my own to save some money and I just don't know how this is happening. My trunk lid went from shutting perfectly fine for not shouting at all now. Do you have any ideas as to what could be going wrong to wear my trunk lid does not shut properly anymore. I have a subwoofer in the trunk that does a little bit of rattling but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I don't know how to remove the car emblems and I want to remove mine from my car. I think it looks cooler on a car when they do not have car emblems. Emblems are very large in my car and there's even an emblem from where I bought it. I want to emblems gone how can I do this to where it looks perfect on the outside where they were. If I could just get all the emblems off my car I would be super happy. Does anybody know a good way that I can do this without scratching my paint.
